My favorites for week 12, 2011

Big GrinSomething to laugh: my favorite comic strip of the weekabout spring

Finally it arrived … spring ! Its getting sunny and warm here in Germany already. Let’s start it with fresh energy and motivation. Or better with a nap, like this guy here in B.C. ?

NerdSomething to watch: my favorite video clip of the weekabout funny animals

Nice video of some funny scenes with animals on Metacafe: “Funny Animals”.

Surprise Something to surprise: my favorite "I really didn’t know this" of the weekabout twitter

Happy birthday, Twitter ! 5 years – not bad !

Did you know that

  • 400 full time employees are working at Twitter,
  • more than 140 million Tweets are sent per day, which adds up to a billion Tweets every 8 days
  • while it took about 18 months to sign up the first 500,000 accounts, we now see close to 500,000 accounts created every day. ?

Impressive numbers ! If that trend continues then in 13580 days every person living on the world today will be connected to twitter, that’s  around year 2048 then.

Something to enjoy: my favorite photo  on flickr under a Common Creative licenseabout colorful (more or less) birds

I featured him in my company blog three years ago with this photo of a Brown Hawker: Nick Ford from Castle Acre, UK. He is still posting nice animal photos under a CC license, here are two of his latest shots:

Something to talk about: my favorite quote of the weekabout regrets and dreams

Sounds like a general good recipe for a good life: the art of setting priorities right !
