My favorites for week 34, 2010

Big GrinSomething to laugh: my favorite comic strip of the weekabout time management

Proper time management is an art and many people have real trouble with it. Nevertheless, there are a few rules of thumb to consider: never ever let anyone else than you manage your calendar. And: be aware that different people have different priorities.

Dilbert’s pointy-haired boss probably never will learn this.

NerdSomething to watch: my favorite video clip of the weekabout sports through fun

These Piano Stairs are a nice idea to motivate people to be a bit more sportive and use staircases instead of escalator. Thus: this would be a nice idea for a smarter city initiative, don’t you think ? You improve overall health and fitness of people, provide them with some fun and at the end could save some energy if the escalator would only run when needed.

At the end of this video you can see who’s idea this was.

Something to enjoy: my favorite photo  on flickr under a Common Creative licenseabout Mount Rainier

Mount Rainier National Park
"Mount Rainier National Park" by Kate & Jen.

Ah – Mount Rainier Nationalpark – such a beautiful place on earth ! My wife and I have been there on our trip from San Fransisco to Seattle in September 2006. On my birthday we did a great hike along the Skyline Trail. Here is one of my shots of Mount Rainier:  lots of snow in September already ! And here is a beautiful shot from Kate and Jen : “Mount Rainier National Park”.

Something to talk about: my favorite quote of the weekabout qualifications

It is far more impressive when others discover your good qualities without your help.

That’s why I do not really believe in self-certifications.
